CFL: Do Dong’s individual brilliance help East Bengal to win mini derby; Southern Samity beat Kalighat MS

Barasat: East Bengal turned on the style in second half  to beat another Kolkata giant Mohammedan Sporting Club  2-1  to go top of the table in Calcutta Football League 2015 at Barasat Vidyasagar Krirangan on Sunday afternoon.

From the early minutes of the game, both the teams made their intention clear and started the game with a very aggressive mode.Mohammedan Coach Mridul Banerjee made two changes in their starting line up.Kareem Omolaja Nurain took his sit into reserve bench and Nurudeen  Olawale and Dolphine Bernard started the match as two foreigners in their team.Meanwhile Arnab Mondal came back in East Bengal starting line up replacing Deepak Mondal. Both teams were attacked each other ,but were unable to creat any clear cut chances in fast half.

On 20 min Mohammedan Sporting’s midfielder Dolphine Bernard tried with a long ranger and East Bengal Mideo Dong Hyung also delivered a well grounder,but both shots of both team were just wide from far post. As a result of those error both teams went to the lemon break without scored any goal.Once again Dong Hyun wins the East Bengal Loyal’s heart with his amazing solo run.

East Bengal came out for the second half with renewed vigor and as they needed another win after successful win in last match against BNR.They placed more attacks but the final finishing was lacking. When things did not change, East Bengal manager Biswajit Bhattacharjee brought on Sylo Malsawmtulunga to replace Prohlad Roy respectively  in 58 min.

The substitution was sparked into the East Bengal midfield and after that in Barasat Stadium it was only East Bengal. They got the broke through in 66 minutes by brilliant Dong Hyung. His left footed bullet shot from the top box took shelter in to the net which gave no chance to the Mohammedan Custodian.After their first goal East Bengal was looked very aggressive. On 69th minute Cavin Lobos grounder shot was just went over the cross bar.East Bengal doubled their lead after the six minutes of first goal.This time Dong Hyung scored with his amazing solo run from midfield and defeated the Mohammedan defence with his speed and finished with his right footed placement.Only Dolphine Bernard from Mohammedan Sporting tried to do something for his team in second half but he did not get enough support and they were just depended on counter attack.

Mohammedan coach Mridul Banerjee’s strategy doesn’t looked clear at all as playing against a strong East Bengal side he benched team’s main defender Kareem Omolaja, however it looked even weird when Banerjee introduced Kareem after conceding 2 goals, because under circumstance coaches usually bring attackers. Even after the match the Mohammedan Sporting’s royals were blamed totally to the coach, they shouted with slogan “Go back Mridul” .Mohammedan Sporting reduced difference at the end of the injury time where Kareem Omolaja Scored from a corner. East Bengal mideo Dong Hyung selected man of the match for his brilliant perfomence in the match.

“I am very happy to score and it feels even better to score in winning effort, I just want to keep scoring and help my team to win and if doing that I end up top scorer than that will be addition but my only focus is to win the league for East Bengal.” Dong Hyung told reporters after the match.

After this tremendous win against Mohammedan Sporting East Bengal are in the top of table. They will face against Police AC on 27th August which schedule to be held at East Bengal/Aryan Ground.
