CFL: Suhair VP brace powers United SC to 3-1 win over Pathachakra

Howrah 11 sept’15 : United Sports Club recovered from a goal down to beat Pathachakra FC 3-1 in an 5th round encounter of Calcutta Football League Premier Division – B played at Howrah Stadium here on Friday afternoon.

It was Pathachakra FC who took the lead in first half through Amod Mahato, but after the change of ends United SC responded in a emphatic manner as a brace from Suhair V.P. and a goal from Dipankar Sarkar ensured full three points for the Purple Brigade.

After today’s win United SC maintained their position at the top of standings with 13 points from 5 matches. United SC coach Anjan Nath said “Both teams played exceptional football, especially in first half Pathachakra played very well but the way our boys responded in second half it was brilliant”.
Pathachakra’s Chief Coach Partha Sen said “Despite of playing without seven players from our regular starting lineup, the way our boys fought in the match it was enough to make me satisfied.” United SC will face Fuja Tope’s Peerless SC next on August 23 at Khardah while Pathachakra will take on Eastern Railway on August 18 at Kalyani.
