CFL: United SC, FCI settle for goalless stalemate

Khardah, Kolkata: United Sports Club were held to goalless stalemate by Food Corporation of India (FCI) in an 7th round encounter of Calcutta Football League Premier Division – B played at Vivekananda Krirangan in Khardah here on Tuesday.

United SC who played their last match 18 days ago against their own developmental side Pathachakra, were forced to play without five from their regular line-up. However it was United SC who looked better of the two teams through out the match but were failed to convert the chances which they had through Usman Ashik and Dipankar Sarkar and as end result the match on a goalless stalemate.

After the match United SC coach Binoo George said “We played our first match in 18 days though with out many of our regular features therefor I am not disapointed with this result but we need to make up for the mistakes we made in this match and since we are facing a strong team like Peerless in next match we need to be at the top of our game.”

United SC will face Fuja Tope’s Peerless SC next on Friday at Barasat Stadium.
