KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan have reached an agreement to release Liberian forward Ghanefo Ansumana Kromah from his contract, the club confirmed in a statement.
“Mohun Bagan have parted ways with Ghanefo Ansumana Kromah. The Club and player have agreed a mutual separation today. We wish the player all the best for his future endeavors.” Mohun Bagan said in a press release.
Mohun Bagan, who were one of the most consistent teams in I-League during past three seasons, have endured a nightmarish campaign this time around, having achieved only three victories from 9 matches, which led to the resignation of long serving Head Coach Sanjoy Sen last week.
Kromah is one of several players who have under-performed for Mohun Bagan this season and the club has decided to let him go four months before the expiry of his contract.
The Liberian left Churchill Brothers in June 2017 to join the Kolkata giants, but the class Kromah was expected to bring into the team never materialized and he failed to live up to the club’s expectations.
