KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club’s new Trinidadian striker Willis Plaza said he is delighted with the opportunity to play for the Black Panthers and vowed to do his best to help the club to get promotion in the I-League.
The 30-year-old was signed by the Kolkata giants this afternoon after East Bengal released him earlier this week, since then Plaza’s future has been the subject of speculation in the media, but Mohammedan SC put an end to this by confirming his move.
“Mohammedan SC is arguably one of the biggest clubs in India and I am very happy to be here,” said the former East Bengal hitman. “It’s an honour to be associated with the Black Panthers family. I want to achieve a lot of things. I want to score goals for the club and help the club to qualify for I-League.”
“When I got the offer from Mohammedan SC, I didn’t hesitate for one moment that I want to be here, I signed immediately,” he added.
“I am excited for the new challenge, there is a lot of things to look forward to. I am very excited and hopefully I can contribute to the teams success.” ,” Plaza conclude
