KOLKATA: Calcutta Premier Division side Rainbow Athletic Club have fortified their defense for the forthcoming edition of the league, with the signing of Guy Eric Dano.

The Ivorian joins Rainbow AC from Minerva Punjab, where he played a crucial role in Minerva Punjab’s triumphant I-League season with a contribution of 18 appearances and one goal.

Earlier reports emerged that Dano has signed with Mohammedan SC, but Rainbow AC has beaten their city rivals for signature of the 28-year-old.

Before coming to India, Dano turned out for the Ivorian Ligue 1 side Jeunesse Club d’Abidjan, which has boosted the likes of former Ivory Coast goalkeeper Vincent Angban and Guinea national team striker Demba Camara.

Dano has already arrived in Kolkata on Friday evening and will start training with Rainbow AC from Monday. Earlier Rainbow AC have signed Nigerian striker Joel Sunday.
