IMPHAL: Neroca FC are said to be on the verge of signing Brazil-born naturalized Equatoguinean defender Eduardo Soares Ferreira for the forthcoming 2018/19 I-League campaign.
IndiaFooty sources have revealed that the player’s deal to join Neroca FC is as good as done, although it is yet to be confirmed by the Orange Brigade.
Eduardo, who spent his youth career playing for the likes of Fluminese, Flamengo and Corinthians, has played for top flight clubs in Brazil, Colombia, South Africa and Iran before moving to India with Indian Super League (ISL) club FC Pune City in 2016.
After the conclusion of ISL 2016, the 34-year-old turned for Mohun Bagan in the I-League 2016/17 before switching allegiance to East Bengal in the next season. However, Eduardo was released from East Bengal at the end of the 2017/18 season.
Neroca FC have retained Varney Kallon, Felix Chidi Odili and Aryn Williams from the previous season beside signing much-traveled Italian goalkeeper Mauro Boerchio.
