Mohammedan Brush Off Khalid Jamil Rumours

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club have have poured cold water on speculations that they are attempting to lure former East Bengal head coach Khalid Jamil for the remainder of the 2018/19 Calcutta Premier Division ‘A’ campaign.
A recent report suggested that Black Panthers have initiated talks with 2016/17 I-League winning coach. Despite the reported interest, Mohammedan Sporting General Secretary Mohammad Qamaruddin informed IndiaFooty that he is not aware of the interest and there is no truth in speculation, saying, “I don’t know anything about what you are asking me about. This is simply not true.”
“Raghu Nandi is our coach and he will continue for the rest of matches,” he added.
The report suggested Jamil is currently in talks with Mohammedan Sporting management, who are disappointed with Nandi as Black Panthers failed to perform consistently and after 6 matches found themselves on sixth position in the log with just 10 points. However, Qamaruddin vehemently denied such claims, putting to bed the rumours.
Mohammedan Sporting will play their next match in Calcutta Premier Division ‘A’ against West Bengal Police at their home tomorrow.
