Sunrise Club clinched the title in first ever FAO Super Cup

CUTTACK: Sunrise Club have clinched the title in the first ever Football Association of Orissa (FAO) Super Cup after beating Rising Student Club 2-1 in a keenly contested final played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.

Sunrise Club took the lead in the 11th minute through Gurpreet Singh, only for Lakhai Murmu to restore the parity for Rising Student Club in the very next minute. However, Mohammad Fayas’ 70th minute goal settled the for Sunrise Club.

Sunrise Club were presented with trophy and cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh for being champion in FAO Super Cup while Rising Student Club were presented with a trophy and a cash reward of Rs. 50000 for being runners up.
