KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan have completed the signing of Egyptian midfielder Omar Elhussieny after consulting with head coach Sankarlal Chakraborty as the fifth foreigner for the forthcoming 2018/19 I-League.
However, to earn a contract at Mohun Bagan, Elhussieny will have to go though a complete medical and physical fitness test. During this time Sankarlal will assess him and only after successful conclusion of tests Mohun Bagan will sign him.
The 32-year-old, who played in countries such as Egypt, Estonia, Indonesia and Malta, is basically an attacking midfielder and can also play as a striker or a winger. While playing for Estonia-based FCI Levadia Tallinn, Elhussieny played the UEFA Champions League scoring 1 goal and assisting twice in 5 appearances.
Elhussieny has already applied for his visa and is suppose to get it by Thursday and most likely to reach by Saturday.
