PIFA Women crowned champions of BWFA Womens League

MUMBAI: The PIFA Sports FC women’s team lifted the Bandra West Football Association (BWFA) Women’s League Trophy 2018 on Sunday 28 October 2018, while PIFA’s Pratima Mukhia was adjudged the Player of the tournament.

The league was conducted in Bandra, Mumbai under the auspices of MDFA over a period of 3 months, with 15 teams participating in 4 groups.

In the group stage, PIFA drew their first game to Bodyline Sports Club 0-0, there after they beat India Rush Soccer Club 3-0 (Namrata 2, Radhika 1) and The Soccer Academy 4-0 (Namrata 2, Ananya 1, Sibani 1)

In the quarter finals they beat Somaiya Sports Academy 7-0 (Muriel 3, Tripti 2, Pratima 1, Sibani 1), while in the semi-finals they beat Future Stars Football Academy 3-1 (Pratima 2, Rani)

The final match was played against Football School Of India (FSI) which was 1-0 (Sibani Sharma)

The team conceded only one goal in the entire tournament.

The team also kicked off their participation in the WIFA Women’s Championship with resounding 11-0 win over Bombay Gymkhana Club.
