GOA: Panjim Footballers emerged champions of the GFA Vedanta Women’s League for the second consecutive time following their goalless draw against Ambelim Sports Club at Ambelim ground, on Tuesday.

Panjim Footballers topped the table with 25 points from 11 matches and are yet to play their last game against Albert Developers.

Meanwhile, Goan FC are on second spot with 24 points after 12 matches and Churchill Brothers are on third spot with 20 points and are left to play their last game.

Coming into the game, Panjim Footballers coach Anthony Vaz knowing that a win could give them the second title fielded a strong team with regular goalkeeper Candice Fernandez and league’s highest scorer Karishma Sirvoikar upfront.
