KALYANI: Real Kashmir registered their second win of the 2019 Durand Cup when they beat Army Green 4-0 in an Group C match played at Kalyani Stadium on Saturday.
When in the 3rd minute Chesterpoul Lyngdoh of Real Kashmir netted a goal, spectators who had flocked to Kalyani Ground knew they are in for a treat. It has been a field day for the Meghalayan. In the 39th minute he would score again. Hence it was no surprise when he was adjudged the Man of the Match as well.
Meanwhile, between his twin goals, Singam Subash Singh scored the second goal for RKFC in the 33rd minute. By the time referee blew his whistle for half-time, the scoreboard looked 3-0 in favour of Real Kashmir.
Things roughed up a bit on field when Sajesh Muttath and Laishramnanishsingh were shown Red cards in the 52nd and 55th minute respectively, as a result of which Army Green were reduced to nine men. They tried to put up a fight but at the fag end of the match at 90+2, Khaidem Vicky Meitei scored the 4th goal for RKFC. However, the most surprising action came when Vibin TV of Army Green was shown the 3rd Red card of the match just after the final whistle was heard. Thus, Real Kashmir won with an overwhelming 4-0, and has almost confirmed their berth for the semis.
Real Kashmir FC, for the final match in the group league, will face against FC Goa on August 17 and Army Green will play Chennai City on the following day, August 18.
