Mohammedan SC sack Subrata Bhattacharya

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club have sacked their head coach Subrata Bhattacharya after an abysmal start to the 2019/20 season, which has seen them fail to clear the league phase of the 2019 Durand Cup.

The Black Panthers have only won a single match in Durand Cup and drew both their matches in Calcutta Football League.

“Considering the fact that Subrata Bhattacharya has added a lot of value in the club but unfortunately the results were not forthcoming, hence we had to release him from his contract,” Mohammedan Sporting General Secretary Mohammad Qamaruddin told IndiaFooty.

Bhattacharya will be replaced by Mohammedan Sporting’s Under-19 coach Saheed Sunkanmi Ramon. The Nigerian has previously assisted Biswajit Bhattacharya when he was at helm of Mohammedan Sporting during 2017/18 season.

The Black Panthers have also roped in former India international Dipendu Biswas as the technical director.
