Mamata Banerjee saves the day as East Bengal set to play ISL

KOLKATA: East Bengal will participate in the forthcoming Indian Super League, announced it’s investors Shree Cement. The announcement came after a meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nabanna.
CM had a meeting with East Bengal officials and it’s investors in Nabanna on Wednesday. There she said, “The problem has been solved. East Bengal is playing ISL. Greetings to all the supporters and officials.”
Speaking on behalf of the East Bengal Club, Debabrata Sarkar said, “I don’t want to belittle Didi (Mamata Banerjee) by thanking her. Didi is always by our side. Not just by us, but by all the sports. Today the problem has been solved only because of her.”
East Bengal claimed that the issue of handing over the club, which had been at the center of controversy since the beginning, has now been resolved. However, Shree Cement did not comment on the matter.
The transfer window will end on August 31, which means, East Bengal has less than a week. to form a team.
