AIFF Elite Academy wins their maiden U-19 I-League title

Pune: Based in Goa, AIFF Elite Academy secured their maiden U-19 I-League, with a 2-0 victory over United SC in the penultimate match of the league at DSK Football Field in Pune here this evening.

AIFF entered the match fresh off a emphatic 6-0 win over Chanmari FC on Monday, tied on 16 points with Pune FC and only a almost impossible 9-0 defeat for AIFF Elite Academy could saw Pune FC crowned champions but AIFF Elite Academy put a solid peformance to emerge champions.

AIFF Elite Academy took the through Sajid Mohammed Dhot who rose above his marked to head the ball from a well taken corner in the 28th minute.

Just seconds prior to half-time whiste AIFF Elite Academy doubled their lead when Rakesh Oram sent a delightful through ball to Milan Basumataray and Milan made most off that and guided the ball into the net.

AIFF Elite Academy finished the league on 19 points from 7 matches whereas Pune FC finished just behind them with 16.

Venues are finalised for 2nd Division I-League

The Second Division League 2014-15 will kick off on 29th March and continues until  9th May 2015. The double-leg league will be held in two venues which are Siliguri and Golaghat (Assam) respectively.

While the initial seven rounds of matches will be held in Siliguri while the return legs will be palyed at Golaghat.

Eight teams are participating the league to compete for promotion to the top tier of India’s Club football League the I-League.

While there will be only one team getting relegated from the I-League 2014-15 therefor only one team will be promoted from the 2nd Division League as well at the end of the season.

Participating Teams: Mohammedan Sporting Club, United SC, Aizawl FC, Chanmari FC, PIFA Sports, Kenkre SC, Hindustan FC, LoneStar Kashmir FC.

5 United Sports Club players sign at the IFA office for 2nd division I-league this year!

Five players of United SC, Biswajit Biswas, Sk. Mustafa Ali, Dhiman Sinha, Satish Singh and the experienced Liberian playmaker Eric P. Brown signed for the Purple brigade at IFA Office, Kolkata this evening.

United SC started their practice from 23rd February morning at Salt Lake Central Park Ground. The team is a unique blend of both young and experienced footballers who has pledged to uphold the spirit of football.

United Sports Club started their practice for 2nd division I-league 2015

From today onwards United SC started their practice at Saltlake central park play ground, keeping in view of the 2nd division I-league under the guidance of Mr. Anjan Nath.

Former National league winner Satyabrata Bhowmick has been appointed as the Chief coach of the purple brigade for the I-league.

In-form players like Jayanta Sen, Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, Sankar Oraon, Eric Brown, Moris, Abu Koni, Rajon Barman, Jagannath Oraon, Babun Das, Farid, Gazi, Mustafa, Barun Oraon were available in the first day practice.

Soumen Majumder scores in East Bengal’s win

East Bengal rode on Soumen Majumder’s first half strike to prevail over Mohammedan Sporting Club in a hard fought zonal round fixture of U-19 I-League on Sunday afternoon at Rajpur-Sonarpur Ground.

Soumen Majumder scored in the 5th minute of the match to ensure full points for his side from an away fixture, meanwhile Mohammedan did create some good moves in patches but those were not enough to penetrate East Bengal defence.

This win took East Bengal to the second position into the league table with 7 points from 4 outings, while Mohammedan has only a point from same number of matches.

Mohammedan U19 go down fighting against Mohun Bagan U19

Mohammedan Sporting Club Go down 1-2 against Mohun Bagan in the U19 I-League Kolkata Zonal Round at Kamalgazi Netaji Sports Complex here on Wednesday (24th December) afternoon.

 

Mohammedan started off well and played some attacking football since very begining, Mohammedan’s attacking football paid off as the Black Cubs scored in 12th minute but the goal was ruled out due to offside, however against run of the play Mohun Bagan took the lead in the 17th minute courtesy of Adarsh Tamang but Mohammedan responded immediately with the equalising goal through Diptanu Das in the 19th minute.

 

Despite of few other scoring chances no more goals can be found in the first-half, as the teams went into the half-time with a goal each in either side of the pitch.

 

In second-half Mohammedan maintained pressure on Mohun Bagan defence but somehow failed to found of the net with Omeer Hossain and Sk Suraj Ali upfront, meanwhile in the 84th Mohun Bagan took the lead through Pintu Mahato, which eventually turned to be the difference between the teams.

 

 

Mohammedan will host East Bengal next on Sunday (28th December) at the same venue.

U-19 I-League : A stoppage time strike from Mohammedan SC to hold United SC 1-1

18th Dec’14 Kolkata : High on confidence after the win over archrivals Mohun Bagan, United SC’s U-19 team started strongly with the movement against Mohammedan SC and the home side took the lead through their captain Babun Das from penalty after the interval and held on to their slender lead till the end of regulation time.

But Mohammedan SC rode on a stoppage time strike to hold United SC 1-1 in a Round 2 U-19 I-League East zone fixture at the Kamalgazi Netaji Sports Complex ground, Sonarpur on Wednesday.

United SC’s junior players created several scoring chances against their opponents but they could not finish it off on most occasions. The purple side, who dominated the match, failed to convert at least five clear opportunities that could have changed the complexion of the game.

The result takes United SC’s points tally to 4 from two matches while Mohammedan SC earned their first point from one match.

Meanwhile United SC wasted a golden opportunity to bag all three points as the match ended one-all.

Mohammedan Sporting Club appoints new coach

 

In a press conference held at Mohammedan Sporting Club tent on Friday evening, Mr. Moinuddin Bin Moksud, General Secratary of Mohammedan Sporting Club, has named Mr. Ananta Kumar Ghosh as the new Chief Coach of the club. While Tope Ayodeji Fuja will coordinate with him in the coahing.

 

Employe of the Sports Authority of India Mr. Ananta Kumar Ghosh, holds the AFC A Coaching Lisence coached both India and Bengal in junior level said, “It is an honour forme to coach a illustrias club like Mohammedan, I am here to take the challange and prove that i can coach a big team like Mohammedan”.

 

On this occasion signing of Daniel Bidemi and Kivi Zhimomi is announced by the General Secratary as well.

 

Mr. Moksud has allso announced that the Mohammedan Sporting Club, will celebrate the Annual Mohammedan Sporting Day on 3rd January 2015 as the foundation day of the club,where the Life Time Achivement Award will be presented to a legendary footballer for his contributions towards the club. On that day Mohammedan Sporting Club all so present winter cloths to the groundsman of 20 other clubs of Kolkata Maidan.

 

Mohammedan Sporting Club will start training under the new coach from 1st December.

Trails: I-League 2nd division club Kenkre FC holding trials on 18th and 19th september

Second division I-League Club, Kenkre FC is holding trials for senior team on 18th and 19th September 2014 at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, Mumbai.

Players Criteria is limited to  Mumbai based players only and  Players who have played Elite/Super Division should only come for trials. If any Outstation players is willing  for trials then they will have to make their own travel and staying arrangements.

Trial times are 7.00 to 9.00 am.

After selection team will be participating in AIFF 2nd Division League, MDFA Elite division, Nadkarni Cup, All India Invitation Football Tournaments.

Tata Football Academy lifted the U-19 I-League trophy

Tata Football Academy lifted the U-19 I-League trophy for the season 2013/14 following a 4-0 thumping of Hindustan FC U-19 side in the final day of the tournament at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur on Tuesday, April 29.

Manipuri lad Udanta Singh was the main attraction of the afternoon as the 18-year-old striker pumped in all the four goals and was the sole threat throughout the 90 minutes in the game. In the process, Udanta notched up nine goals from the five games in the Final Round of the Competition, and rightfully made his mark in it.

East Bengal striker Jiten Murmu is second in the list of the top scorers with seven goals from five games.

Shakti Chauhan, the Head Coach of the Tata Academy Colts, was ecstatic following the win, and he has saluted his team and the entire coaching staff for the victory in the tournament.

“It was a complete team effort. That is just it! Everybody worked together, the players, as well as the entire Coaching Staff – our Goalkeeper Coach Gumpe Rime, myself, the assistant Coaches, all the backroom staff, just everyone” Chauhan said.

“As for now, we are heading for a party to celebrate the success of Team Effort!”

Tata Football Academy finished their campaign in the tournament with 13 points from five games – and also remained unbeaten. Kolkata outfit East Bengal finished runners-up here as well, as they notched up 10 points from the five games.

Sesa Football came third with nine points.

The AIFF Academy, Navi Mumbai, had a bitter luck, as they lost thrice in the Final Round, to finish second last in the competition, ahead of Hindustan FC, and below Shillong Lajong FC.
