CHANDIGARH: Northern powerhouse Minerva Punjab FC defeat Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) this afternoon to storm into the Finals if 32nd JCT Punjab State Super Football League in a one sided encounter played at the Football Stadium, Dolike, Jalandhar.
The Apollo backed team lined up with Bhaskar in the woodwork, as Akashdeep, Arshdeep and Deepak Devrani formed the backline. Souvik Das, Amandeep Singh, Randeep and Aimable, were deployed in the half line whereas CS Sabeeth, William and Aakash Sangwan were upfront.
The Game started on quite a competative note as both teams played end-to-end game roaring to break the deadlock in as early as possible. However skipper William Opoku broke the deadlock in the 13th minute to stun the opponents, The Ghanian further went to create many more chances but missed the final touch of his teammates. A close attempt came in the 21st minute when his slpended chip forward was headed with power by CS Sabeeth but the Kerala born striker missed the target. CRPF did manage to create numerous chances but were defended halfway by Aimable and Deepak Devrani on various occasions. MPFC custodian Bhaskar made a jaw dropping save i the dying minutes of the first half to keep the Warriors in the game. Minerva however headed into the break with the lead.
The second Half started with a bang when Souvik brilliantly curled a powerful ball to Akash whose poweful header just missed the woodwork by inches. Gaffer Sachin Badadhe soon replaced CS Sabeeth and brought in experienced Manandeep Singh who previously was turned up for Mohammedan Sporting. The change payed of well as Manandeep tested the keeper with a powerful shot in the very next minute. Japanese hitman Yu Kuboki soon made his way to replace Aimable in the centre of the park who combined well with Manandeep to give a tough time to the CRPF backline. another close attempt came in the 78th minute when Manandeep lays it into the path of Opoku who fires a low driven shot which was saved by the keeper. Randeep too made way for fresh legged Dilliram Sanyasi to boost the attacks via flanks. The dying minutes of the game saw Souvik switches the play initiating a counter attack, finding Yu who spots the keeper off his line and tries to lob him, but the keeper somehow manages to keep it out.
The Warriors emerged victorious at the FT whistle sealing their slot in the Finals of 32nd JCT Punjab State Super Football League.
Punjab: Punjab Football Association has planned to commence 30th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2016 -2017 from 11th September, 2016 and conclude on 17th October, 2016. The following top eleven teams from Punjab are taking part in this event:

Total eleven rounds of five matches each have been arranged as this year Punjab Super Football League will be held on single leg league basis thereby each team having three home, three away and four neutral games. Thus according to change in format and not to confine this league in only three four districts, this year too PFA has planned to hold league’s neutral matches in multi-cities of Punjab so as it may reach at rural level in entire state of Punjab, some areas where grassroots football projects are also going on, have been chosen to host super league matches for youth of Punjab.
The opening ceremony has been assigned to Jangpur Sports Complex, Jangpur (District Ludhiana), from 11th September, 2016 at 4:00 PM followed by opening match between Jangpur Football Club and Punjab Police Football Team, where a set of opening neutral marches have been planned.
Although, JCT is playing its pivotal role in supporting PFA development activities, however, Legend International (INDPRO SPORTS) has also joined hand with Punjab Football Association and JCT to boost up football development in Punjab State. PFA approves ‘ULTRA’ as official ball for playing Super League Games. The Kick off time for all matches is fixed as 4:00 PM.
Super League encounter was held between BSF and RCF in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. Both teams started the match proceeding off an offensive note and started creating effective moves in to open the jinx for their respective teams. But initial minutes of game saw Balraj Singh and Mukhwinderjit Singh denying the opponents to score any goal. In 24thminute of the game Vishal was the guilty party from BSF corps to conceive penalty against BSF when he intentionally handled the ball which was just going inside BSF post. Thus match referee besides giving Vishal marching order has also awarded penalty in favour of RCF, which Gurpreet Singh from RCF came in to score and he took an accurate shot on BSF den which Balraj could not save and RCF surge ahead in the match and till half-time score line was 0-1 in favour of RCF.
After lemon break BSF combined well with their 10-men brigade and started making superb moves in search of equalizer and they succeeded in doing so when Kamal Kishore initiated good footwork in goal area which saw Henry taking shot on rebound and when his shot was saved by RCF defender, but PB Ekka took full advantage of his failure to clear the ball and shot home equalizer of the game in 47th minute of the game. Thereafter Pawan Kumar Tiwari again came close to score twice but his poor finishing upfront could not earn more points for BSF. On the other hand Ajay Kumar and Jagtar Singh created couple of scoring opportunities for RCF, but alert BSF custodian came up with super saves and even defense of BSF outplayed RCF striking zone to make any harm. The match ended in 1-1 draw. Thus both the teams had to content with one point each at the end of day.
The another match of 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League was held at Chohal (Hoshiarpur) between Punjab Police and Punjab State Power Corporation Limited in which Punjab Police was seen in super action by scoring an emphatic win over below line team PSPCL. Jaswinder Singh scored first goal of the game in 8th minute of the game and rest of the first half game PSPCL were busy in making certain saves from the in-form Punjab Police corps. Again same was the story in second sessions, Punjab Police took the command of the game in their hand and started making certain fertile moves in their favour and 48th minute of the game saw medio Harjinder Singh doubled the lead by scoring second goal of the game. Whereas 3rd goal of the game was scored by Gurtej Singhin 65th minute of the game to seal the match for Punjab Police and thus with this win Punjab Police regain its first spot on league table with 23 points from 12 outings.
Tomorrow’s Super League action saw JCT Football Academy takes on Dalbir Football Academy at Yakir Hussain Stadium, Malerkotla which is a densely football populated area.
United Punjab has beaten CRPF by 2-1 in Round XII game in the ongoing 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015. This match was played in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. The first half game was evenly contested game by both teams, both teams creating better scoring opportunities. 8th minute of the game saw Aftabvir scoring from fine header to surge ahead UPFC in the match. After suffering this debacle CRPF started creating better scoring opportunities. 26th minute of the game saw Gurlal scored equalizer for CRPF. Thereafter, CRPF missed couple of scoring opportunities through Ravinder and V.Shibu and both strikers of CRPF missed clear scoring changes those came in their way till half time.
After lemon break, United Punjab combined well to make some effective moves through its substitute Hardeep Gill who took over the command of UPFC till scoring winner goal of the game by Harminder Singh in 67th minute. Hardeep Gill play pivotal role in supplying accurate passes to his team mates on which UPFC missed couple of scoring changes in second half. At the changing ends CRPF combined well and started raiding UPFC danger area in search of equalizer of the game, but it was too late to score by them. With this win UPFC jumped to 3rd spot with 17 points in 12 outings, whereas CRPF remain in below table 7th spot with 11 points from 11 outings. United Punjab too better to blank CRPF by 2-0 in Round V game in the ongoing 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015. This match was played in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. The first half game was evenly poised game by both teams, both teams creating better scoring opportunities but none of two score any goal and at interval time both teams were goalless. United Punjab was having better ball possession and slight domination over the CRPF, but poor finishing by Parveen, Jaspreet duo upfront could not produce any goal in first half.
After barren first half, United Punjab took over the command of the game and initiated certain fertile moves resulting which Jaspreet come first to open the jinx in 62nd minute when he got rebound form CRPF custodian on Kamaldeep’s powerful shot and alert UPFC striker Jaspreet made no mistake to score. On surging ahead with one goal, UPFC regain its confidence in the match and substitute Taranjit started making continuous moves in the danger zones of CRPF. 74th minute of game saw Amandeep Singh doubled the lead by scoring a long range goal. After dribbling past midfielders of CRPF, Amandeep took a powerful long range shot which directly entered the CRPF goalpost and after suffering this debacle CRPF team combined well and started making moves Johan Lal and Inderjeet, but poor shots taken by Inderjeet and party could not cause any harm to UPFC post. JCT thrashed PSPCL 2-0 in round VIII game played today in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. First half game was mix of juncture form both sides JCT was seen with better ball possession and creating more scoring opportunities. 12thminute of the game saw JCT missed scoring opportunity when Sukhwinder supplied a thorough ball to Manvir upfront which he shot wide and wasted this scoring opportunity. Thereafter JCT again combined well initiated certain good moves and continuously raided the danger area of PSPCL, but all fertile moves from JCT lads could not be proved fruitful as no one can open the jinx and till half time score line was 0-0 in favour of both teams.
After barren first half, both teams entered the field with great zeal and JCT come up with super strategic plans in its move and 47th minute of the game saw Manvir opened the jinx by scoring first goal of the game which was an accurate assist by Shamsher. After scoring this goal JCT again started dominating the proceedings in its favour and lurking PSPCL could hardly came out to tackle and nullify effective moves from JCT lads. 55th minute of the game saw Manvir scoring his second goal of the game on a thorough ball from Shamsher. Thereafter duo medio of JCT Shamsher and Sukhwinder combined well with winger Jot Masih to move continuous effective moves on which Rajbir and Manvir tried to take superb shots on PSPCL den, but those shots narrowly escaped from harming PSPCL posts. At the changing ends, JCT again pressed it hard to create more scoring opportunities. With this win JCT moved to 2nd spot on league table in seven outings.
Now CRPF takes on United Punjab FC for the postponed game of Round-V in Sri Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandahr on 23rd September, 2014 with kick off time 4.00 P.M.
Dalbir Football Academy (Punjabi University) Patiala trounced CRPF 3-2 in round VIII game in the ongoing 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015. Dalbir Football Academy was better of two sides. Sajandeep, sunny and Narinder combined well to make effective moves owing to which Dalbir Football Academy managed to dominate the proceedings of first half. Lurking CRPF came close two times to score in the early minutes of the game, but Sugesh M and Ravinder missed those clear scoring chances. On the other hand, Dalbir Football Academy came into act and Narinder Kumar opened the jinx in 31st minute when he scored home first goal of the game. In another superb move initiated by Sunny in 41st minute saw Santosh double the lead. It was real blow on CRPF to conceive two goals in first half.
In hot proceedings of the game Sunesh P.V., W. Athoiba, Pallab Chutia from CRPF and Narindr Kumar from Dalbir FA were cautioned for unsporting behaviour and wrong tackles in the match

Defending Champion RCF outplayed professional outfit United Punjab Football Club 1-0 in round VIII game of 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League 2014-2015, which was held in Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar. It was a close encounter between two below table teams and both teams fought it well to grab points in this second phase match of the league. In today’s game RCF was the better of two and dominated the proceedings right from the start. RCF team combined well and lived upto the expectation of its coach Bikramjit who was confident on his team to win today’s inning. This was victory for the defending champion in this year’s league as it has five drawn games with two loss in its account. Jagtar and Gurpreet combined well upfront to make continuous raids in UPFC den, resulting which RCF surge ahead when Gurpreet took a well measured powerful free kick in 12th minute form near left flank which entered from right side of the goal-post and helpless Satvir could not make any act to save this debacle. Chandandeep was the guilty party from UPFC to handle the ball outside penalty area and referee made no hesitation to allow free kick to RCF. Thereafter for whole of the remaining first half game UPFC tried their best to score equalizer, but Parveen missed couple of scoring opportunities those came in UPFC way. Till half time the score line was 1-0 in favour of RCF.
The second half game was also equally biased game between two but RCF having slight domination over UPFC with better ball possession and having creativity in footwork, but in the whole there was no further harm to UPFC. First half game was evenly contested between two teams United Punjab having upper hand on the host in regard to creative moves. 22nd minute of the game saw United Punjab missed a clear cut scoring change when Kamaldeep Singh Jsry No.20 gave well measured pass to Parveen Kumar Jsy No.10 who after beating Dalbir FA’s custodian took a forceful shot but his shot hit the bar and went out. However Dalbir Football Academy came close to score opener of the game in 43rd minute, but Prabhjot Jsy No.9 have missed a clear cut scoring opportunity when he took shot on rebound from UPFC custodian, but his shot went wide causing no harm to UPFC.
