United SC Appoints Bino George as New Head Coach

Kalyani, Nadia: After a one year hiatus United Sports Club are set to make come back in Calcutta Football League, and to make it a successful one the Purple Brigade are leaving no stone unturned and in the process they have appointed Bino George as their new head coach. George joined the team at Kalyani A Block Ground on Friday morning, where beside Nabab Bhattacharya other United SC officials were present as well.

Hails from Thrissur the former Viva Kerala and Kerala Sports Council coach Bino George holds AFC A License coaching cerfiticate, he is the only Malayali coach to manage a Kolkata club apart from T.K. Chathunni and I.M. Vijayan.

On the first day of his stint George made it clear that he would like to strengthen the defense and will rely more on passing football rather than long ball game. Along with him George also brought five players from Kerala State Senior Football for 2014-15 Santosh Trophy for trial which includes former United SC footballer Usman Ashiq.

Drawn in the Group-B of Calcutta Football League’s Premier Division United SC would be facing the likes of Bhawanipore FC, Peerless SC, George Telegraph and their own developmental side Pathachakra, who ironically shares the ground for training with United SC.
