JAMSHEDPUR: Indian Super League franchise Jamshedpur FC are believed to be in talks with former ATK and FC Pune City coach Antonio Lopez Habas regarding the vacant head coach role, having lost Steve Coppell to ATK earlier this month.
The 61-year-old mentor, who is known for his mercurial nature, is currently unattached following his departure from FC Pune City just before the last campaign, has reportedly emerged as a favourite to land the job with the Men of Steel.
The Spaniard has a wealth of experience in coaching across Spain, South America and Africa besides spending three seasons in ISL. Habas guided ATK to the title in 2014 and a final four spot in 2015 before joining FC Pune City ahead of third season, however, his tenure with the Stallions did not proved fruitful and the team failed to reach play-offs.
Speaking to the IndiaFooty.com, an Jamshedpur FC official said they are talking to a number of coaches without revealing their names.
